Mimi Ke

Raised and mostly based in Iowa City, Iowa, Mimi is a choreographer, teacher and circus artist exploring the field of aerial dance and specializes in aerial silks and rope.

She has performed and choreographed with Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance, in cabarets, circuses, dance festivals and site-based performances around the world. She continues to create her own work as well as participate in collaborative projects. Her passion for improvisation based work drives her creativity, allowing her to express the freedom of aerial dance and the spectacle of theatrical circus.

In 2014, Mimi developed the aerial dance program at National Dance Academy in Iowa City, which over the years has developed into a performing ensemble and community aerial for all ages. She continues to teach and train at National Dance Academy where she encourages the blend of dance, aerial and improvisation, as a way to integrate a stronger and fuller circus scene in Iowa.
