2022-23 Season Artist Audition Information 

General Information - Looking for artists,

  • Who can perform in 1 or all 3 season shows.  In the application, you choose which shows to apply for.

  • Who are U.S. citizens or have a U.S. work permit already in hand.

  • Who have dance and circus performing artists with high level skills in more than 1 discipline.  

  • Who understand the difference between concert and commercial dance and circus work.  This is concert style show and pay.  

  • Who understand working in a team to make the entire cast, show and organization shine.  This can look like helping with a rigging change and minor set changes (i.e. moving a chair offstage) as well as having a positive and adaptable disposition.

  • If you have performed in this show or any show with us in the past, please complete the audition form.  

Clara's Trip: A Cirque & Dance Nutcracker Story - Casting Completed

  • Show Days:  December 15 - 20  SHOW SCHEDULE

  • Caroline Calouche's contemporary dance and circus interpretation of the classical ballet.  Please watch the 2021 show at this link prior to completing the audition form.

  • All lead roles perform in Act 1's party scene and snow.  Lead artists also perform in Act 2's divertissement (again, watch the video please)

  • Casting Requirements - CLICK HERE

  • Must be comfortable performing and working alongside approximately 12 youth. 

  • Rehearsal Period

    • Independent Rehearsal:  Work on your featured dances and send video to the Artistic Director and Rehearsal Director for feedback by October 31.  Locals can use our studio space for free during available times.

    • Artists must also prepare themselves for the ensemble dances by learning choreography from the video.  (submit videos by November 15).

    • In-Person Rehearsal Begin with full cast*: Tuesday, December 7 (pending on the cast's ability to prepare choreography and stamina for the show, artists could be required to come in as early as December 3).  

    • Theater Rehearsals Begin: Tuesday, December 14

    • Performances: Thursday, December 16 - Sunday, December 19 (exact schedule is still a work-in-progress, but approximately 4 full shows and 2-3 abbreviated shows)

*The in-person rehearsal schedule will strongly be contingent on the number of local and out-of-town artists and the ability of the artists to learn choreography from video.  

Note on Choreography and Skills in the Show:  While Clara's Trip is primarily set, Caroline Calouche is open to other circus disciplines and dance skills being added based on the artists' strengths.  So if you do not see your skill set in our 2021 version of Clara's Trip and you think it can work, please audition!

Performance Pay

  • $500 - $1,500 pending the role

  • Out-of-town guests will receive a travel stipend and accommodations. 

Rouge - Casting completed.

  • Show Days

    • Friday, February 10, 8pm | Raleigh (TBC)

    • Saturday, February 11, 8pm at the Greensboro Carolina Theatre

    • February 17 - 19: Charlotte's Booth Playhouse (4 shows)

  • Cabaret show that includes a variety of acts from that are sensual, funny and insightful.  Tag line: Expect the unexpected.

  • Artists will perform in 2 - 3 acts as well as the opening and finale.
  • Artists will collaborate with Caroline Calouche to create the acts.​

  • Small cast of 6 - 8 artists
  • Looking for artists who have some dance experience or who have strengths in floor partnering and acrobatics.
  • Rehearsal Period
    • Independent Rehearsal: Work on your featured dances and send video to the Artistic Director and Rehearsal Director for feedback by January 20.  Locals can use our rehearsal space for free when available.​
    • Artists might have to learn choreography from video prior to attending their first in-person rehearsal.
    • In-Person Rehearsals begin with full cast on Monday, February 6.

Performance Pay

  • $750 - $1,500 pending the role 

  • Out-of-town guests will receive a travel stipend and accommodations. 

 

Stargazer - openings

  • Show Dates: May 4 - 6

  • Rehearsal Dates: April 25 - May 3 

  • Based on a children's book, Caroline Calouche created this show in 2017.  It is about a young girl who looks up at the sky one night and imagines what it would be like to explore our solar system.  And what an imagination she has!
