Irania Garcia

Irania Garcia is a Hispanic American Choreographer movement Artist founder and Artistic Director of IBG Movimiento who is from Charlotte, North Carolina, began her training at age 7 and was awarded a scholarship for her dance education at Charlotte Ballet Academy under the direction of jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride. There, she was mentored by Kathryn Moriarty and numerous other esteemed faculty members. She also trained in jazz with Rachel tucker and Modern with Kim jones. She has had the great opportunity to perform in many of Jean Pierre Bonnefoux's major Ballets including: Midsummer Night's Dream, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, and Cinderella.

She has also had the opportunity to perform Martha Graham's iconic Panorama, restaged by Kim Jones. Ms. Garcia graduated from La Roche University B.A Performing Arts Dance Program, where she joined Bodiography as a trainee in 2015 and toured with company. Has danced in works by Gabriel Lee Ash, Greer Reed, Judith Adelson, Jackie O’Tool, Kelly Basil, Maria Caruso, Martha Graham, and Nicole Jamison. Irania is a dance educator in the genres of Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Contemporary and improvisation dance. In summer 2018 she had opportunity to intern at Hollins University Graduate MFA Dance program in Roanoke, Virginia where she interns as Admin Assistant-MFA Hospitality intern.  She has also worked as a Dance instructor for Bodiography Center for Movement ,West Point Ballet And with dance studios in the region.Now Pursuing her MFA In Dance at Hollins University in June 2020
