Michelle Mazzarella

As a multi-disciplinary aerialist, dancer, Cyr wheel artist, magician’s assistant, and stunt performer, Michelle Mazzarella can best be described as an artistic chameleon. After growing up immersed in Dance and Volleyball, she enrolled at UCLA to achieve a Bachelor of Arts in both Dance and Psychology, and a Minor in Education. She then transitioned into teaching and choreographing for Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Old Town Playhouse, Company Dance Traverse and more. After realizing she wasn’t quite done performing yet, Michelle discovered aerial arts and completed the ProTrack program at the New England Center for Circus Arts, where she gained foundational skills in juggling, handstands, partnering, physical theater, and more, as well as specialized in invented aerial apparatus, Cyr wheel, and flying trapeze. After graduating from NECCA, she embarked on her fruitful career.

From Italy’s Tú Sí Que Vales to Penn & Teller’s Fool Us!, or The Nutcracker to the Bourne Stuntacular, Michelle prides herself in pouring musicality, storytelling, technique, and strength into her work, wherever it may be. Michelle had the pleasure of performing in Caroline’s Animalia and Random Acts of Kindness, as well as Pushing Through the Cracks, a commissioned work for the American Dance Festival. After a few years away, she’s excited to be back for new adventures this season!
