Originally from North Carolina, Jamie started his dance background in Liturgical Dance. He knew he was destined to create after starting his dance training at Western Carolina University where he performed with Asheville Ballet. He later resumed his training in South Carolina at Winthrop University where he received his BA in Dance Performance. He continued his dance career performing in Joseph and the Amazing Techni-Colored Dream Coat at the Concord Community theatre, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at Central Piedmont Community College and then joining companies Caroline Calouche & Company (Charlotte, NC), Annex Dance Company (Charleston, SC), later working with Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company in New York City. TV credits include: The Wendy Williams show, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The View, and Good Day NY. He is the co-founder and co-artistic director of the Drye/Marinaro Dance Company where he travels, performs, and sets work along the east coast. Self-producing shows at iconic NYC venues, including Dixon Place, Playroom Theatre, Club Nublu, Caveat NYC, Abrons Arts Center and New York Live Arts. Also, curating "We Move" a platform for artists to share work under themes and allows the audience to look in on the process. Jamie currently resides in New York City. He continues to work as a choreographer, dance educator, Co-Director of Fusia dance center, Dance Group Fitness Coordinator, and Digital Shoot Director for Gym chains in NYC.
