Caroline Calouche is an aerial and dance performer, choreographer and teacher based in Charlotte, NC.  She began her training in ballet, jazz, modern dance and tap under Pat Wall at Gaston Dance Theatre in Gastonia, North Carolina. She furthered her dance education at Texas Christian University where she graduated with two B.F.A. degrees in Ballet and Modern Dance.  After graduation, Caroline danced with Contemporary Ballet Dallas and Contemporary Dance Fort Worth.  From 2003-2006, she lived in Rome, Brussels and Salzburg dancing and studying with contemporary choreographers.  In 2006, she completed the ICE program (International Choreographic Exchange) at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria.

Her travels brought her back home to the Charlotte area where she found it was time to begin her dance company, Caroline Calouche & Co., and the Charlotte Dance Festival.

In 2007 Caroline began her aerial dance training with anyone who passed through the area.  She enjoys all kinds of apparatus from silks, to rope & harness, bungee, cube and apparatus she invents.

Caroline is known for her fluidity of movement and ability to seamlessly dance from the ground to the air and back.

For me, the air has added another level of expression to my dancing.
